QPR: Question Persuade Refer – Suicide Prevention Training

The CentraCare Occupational Health Department is partnering with Ray Stenglein (out of Willmar, he’s a suicide loss survivor, mental health advocate and AFSP MN Board Member) to lead a QPR training specifically for employers, HR staff, and anyone involved in business/employee management.

Suicide is the 2nd leading cause of death in the US for those ages eleven to twenty-four, and suicide is the 10th leading cause of death in the US for all ages. 80% of those who die by suicide are of working age, making the employer employee relationship that much more important.

Join CentraCare Occupational Health for life-saving training on how to support those who are struggling, whether it is your loved one, a friend, your employee – this training will give you tools to support those in need through QPR training by Ray Steinglein to help you support your workforce.

QPR stands for Question, Persuade, and Refer — the 3 simple steps anyone can learn to help save a life from suicide.

Just as people trained in CPR and the Heimlich Maneuver help save thousands of lives each year, people trained in QPR learn how to recognize the warning signs of a suicide crisis and how to question, persuade, and refer someone to help. Each year thousands of Americans, like you, are saying “Yes” to saving the life of a friend, colleague, sibling, or neighbor.

Suicide prevention starts with everyday heroes like you. If you have more questions about this event or you are a CentraCare employee, please reach out to Melissa Prozinski at Melissa.Prozinski@Centracare.com or 320-251- 2700 ext 72188.
